Eating Disorder Issues

Eating issues can affect children and adults, females and males. Names for and symptoms of common eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, body image distortion, obsessive fear of gaining weight, excessive exercise, bulimia nervosa, binge eating, purging or compulsive eating. Given social, family and peer pressures, it is easy to develop an unhealthy relationship with food. Thus, it is of utmost importance to seek help, when eating issues gain control of your life or the life of a loved one.

I offer a team approach to eating disorders, which provides the optimal therapeutic outcome. In collaboration with the University of Chicago Hospitals’ Eating Disorders Program, I am dedicated to helping families and individuals formulate a comprehensive treatment plan. This approach includes assessment, feedback, psychotherapy and referrals, if necessary, to a team of medical physicians and psychiatrists. Together we can achieve a high quality of life.

If you experience symptoms of an eating disorder, please call to schedule an appointment.
